Vasco: Goa Leader of Opposition Digamber Kamat has sought inquiry by Director General of Civil Aviation after a passenger brought to notice an instance of landing troubles at Goa Airport due to presence of dogs.
“Will DGCA take note of this serious lapse? Safety of passengers put at risk. I urge @MoCA_GOI to take cognisance and act. @goacm,” Kamat tweeted after a Goa based passenger narrated his horrifying experience at the Goa Airport on Tuesday.
One of the passenger who identified himself as Govind Gaonkar had narrated his experience on Air India flight from Mumbai to Goa as pilot aborted the landing as he was seconds away from touch down.
“He went full throttle and took off again only to land again after a turn around of 15 minutes,” the passenger said in his post on Twitter.
“Upon enquiring with the pilot he explained that there were five to six dogs on the runway. It was absolutely annoying,” he added.
“What would DGCA explain now. It was dangerous and there could have been a plane crash,” he added.
When contacted, an official from Goa Airport said that inquiry would be conducted into the incident.
