Panaji: Goa police have registered case against its Police Inspector and another lady in connection with the sexual assault on a minor girl inside Crime Branch police station at Ribandar, near here.
Goa police spokesman, in a media statement released on Friday late evening, has said that the case under relevant sections of BNS 2023 and POCSO Act has been registered against Police Inspector Vikas Deykar of Crime Branch police station and Ranjini Palyekar in connection with the allegations of sexual assault on a minor girl.
Police said that as per the complaint, PI Vikas Deykar allegedly sexually assaulted the minor at Crime Branch, Ribandar, on two occasions, dated July 25, 2026 and October 27, 2026.
The second accused, Ranjini Palyekar, allegedly facilitated the incidents, police said.
The case has been registered under Sections 75, 127, 49 and 61(2)(a) read with 3(5) of BNS, 2023 and Sections 10 and 12 of the POCSO Act.
Further investigation is underway by Old Goa Police Station, police said.
