Resumption of mining in Goa is on a priority list, BJP President Amit Shah assures his party colleagues

Dona Paula: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday assured the BJP leaders from the state that the resumption of mining activity is top on the priority for him.

Shah met core committee of BJP local unit after chairing the meeting West Zonal Council meeting at a starred hotel near here on Thursday afternoon.

“The issue about resumption of the mining activities in the state was discussed with Shah and he has assured that it is top on his priority list. He said that the centre is committed to resume the mining activity in a time bound manner,” BJP Goa Spokesman Damodar Naik said.

Party’s core committee comprising chief minister Pramod Sawant along with top officials including its state unit president Vinay Tendulkar, Satish Dhond, Sadanand Tanavade,  Narendra Sawaikar and Damodar Naik met Shah.

Naik said that the issue about financial compensation to be paid to the flood victims in the state was also discussed while Shah also reviewed the progress on membership drive across the state.
