Panaji: The annual Lokotsav-Folk Festival 2019 will be held at Kala Academy premise between January 11-20.
Directorate of Art and Culture in association with West Zone Cultural Centre- Udaipur will organize the festival which will see participation of 15 States across country.
Nearly 1000 folk artists that will include 600 from Goa will present various folk dances and music and entertain the auidance. Also 600 craftsmen will display their handicraft items during the festival.
Seven States- Nagaland, Ladakh (Jammu and Kashmir), Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and West Bengal will be participating for the very first time for the festival.
Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude said that Lokostsav is a perfect platform for the artisans to showcase and sale their crafts.
Stalls will exhibit handicraft items which includes Bandhani, Kathputali, Lakh Bengals, leather bags, khadi, Kotha silk, handmade garments, clay art, block print, Goan craft, furniture, etc. There would be 100 stalls of food items.
