Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Sunday visited patients receiving healthcare services at home across multiple areas of the state to assess their needs and review the support being provided to them, officials said.
The visits focused on elderly patients, bedridden individuals, stroke survivors and people with other health conditions who are being monitored by healthcare teams at their residences.
During the visits, Rane interacted with patients and their families to understand their requirements and ensure that the necessary healthcare support was being provided at home, including physiotherapy and regular monitoring by health services.
The minister said the initiative aimed to extend healthcare services across Goa and ensure that patients who find it difficult to travel to hospitals receive appropriate care at their homes.
“We visited patients in multiple areas and met their families to understand their needs, so that the entire health services team can ensure that the required support is provided at home,” Rane said.
He said the state government was working in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of taking healthcare to people’s doorsteps, with the objective of providing quality healthcare to residents across Goa.
The home-based care programme seeks to support vulnerable patients, particularly senior citizens and those with limited mobility, through continued medical supervision and assistance from healthcare professionals.
Rane said the government remained focused on extending healthcare services across the state and ensuring that patients receive the care they need in the comfort of their homes.
