Curtorim: Months after ten Congress MLAs were inducted in BJP, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday did not rule out more from the opposition party following the suit.

State Ports Minister Michael Lobo during the Birthday celebration of Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco claimed that the latter “may become Deputy Chief minister of the State in near future.”

While making the statement in presence of Sawant, Lobo did not elaborate on any future political developments.

Later talking to reporters, Sawant did not deny the possibility of Lourenco joining BJP in near future.

“Lourenco is doing a good job in opposition. He is helping us in good governance as good opposition is must,” he told reporters.

When asked to comment on Lobo’s statement, Sawant said “anything is possible in politics. You never know. I said anything is possible.”

A group of ten congress MLAs had joined BJP recently reducing the strength of the opposition party from 15 to mere five including Lourenco. The 50-year-old Curtorim MLA has been vociferous against State government on the floor of the House.
