Panaji: Cyber Crime Unit of Goa Police held an awareness program on Cyber Crime for the Students at Institute of Nursing Education Bambolim.
Interacting with the nursing students PI Rajesh Job and Cyber Expert Mallikarjun of Cyber Crime Unit of Goa Police emphasized about the negative consequences of technology exploited by Criminals. They laid stress on being aware about various vulnerabilities while using smartphones and surfing the internet.
PI Rajesh Job explained about various modus operandi used by cyber criminals. He also highlighted the importance of not clicking on any suspicious links, not downloading any APPs from unverified sources and not revealing sensitive details on social media.
Cyber Expert Mallikarjun from Cyber Crime Unit gave a detailed presentation explaining the finer details about the use of social media and precautions to be followed while using it. He also explained about the initiatives of the Govt of India to fight against the cyber crime. The contact details of cyber cell Goa and the details of online portal www.cybercrime.gov.in to file online complaints related to cyber crime were also shared with the audience.
