Valpoi: Officials from the Land Survey Department, Panaji along with Valpoi Joint Mamlatdar visited Shel Melauli village and started demarcation of the proposed land for IIT Goa project. A large police force was deputed at the demarcation site.

During the demarcation process of the proposed IIT project land, Valpoi Joint Mamlatdar Sanjeevini Satardekar asked villagers not to interfere in the demarcation work. “They are doing their duty. Whatever queries villagers are having they should inform us in written and not take the law in their hands,” he said.

Around two hundred villagers had gathered at demarcation of land site. The villagers requested the joint Mamlatdar to solve their problems first and also requested to hold a special gram sabha in village to discuss on the proposed IIT project at Melauli village.

Meanwhile, the villagers have submitted a memorandum to the Joint Mamlatdar demanding to shift the IIT project from Melauli village.
The joint Mamlatdar, Sanjeevini Satardekar have told the villagers that she will forward their Memorandum and queries to the High level officials.
