Panaji: Once again raising questions on the State government’s mishandling of Covid-19 cases as the country completes six month of lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte alleged that plasma donors are being denied free treatment at hospitals.
Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Khaunte said, “We are six months into COVID-19 and yet the tales of mismanagement by Goa government have no end! Plasma donors are being denied free treatment, something the Chief Minister has been publicizing across newspapers.”
Khaunte further said that he has been receiving calls from people saying that they aren’t able take benefit of the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY).
“Goans who have paid a premium for DDSSY on the promise of covering their ailments are being denied COVID-19 treatment,” he said.
Urging the government that Covid-19 treatment should be covered by the DDSSY scheme he said, “I demand from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to announce coverage of COVID-19 treatment under DDSSY scheme on priority.”
