Panaji: As the State fails to finalize coastal zone management plan (CZMP), government has decided to seek further six months extension from National green tribunal (NGT) for the same.

Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral today said that government will ask for six months extension before NGT to submit the plan.

Cabral said that unless Centre amends CRZ notification 2011 with specific provision to Goa, the CZMP exercise cannot be fruitful.

NGT through its order in August had set November 15 deadline for Goa to finalize and submit CZMP and had warned of coercive action against the officers if the plan is not ready.
