Calangute: Former Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira has alleged that local MLA Michael Lobo was shielding the drug dealers.
He said that the name of Calangute has been defamed from tourist destination to drugs destination.
“Without politicians, panchayat and police, this activity can’t happen,” he alleged.
He recalled that Lobo was claiming that he knows the name of drug paddlers and would expose them.
Sequeira said that Mickky Pacheco had also filed House Committee report, which is kept in the cold storage.
He alleged that politicians and Police Inspector incharge of the area is responsible.
Referring to the NCB raid, he said F Ahmed, who is arrested by the sleuths, is a taxi driver of Panch member, Vilav Lobo. He said that he is the main culprit in the drugs paddling racket.
Without naming anyone, Sequeira said that “Pablo Escobar” was supporting the drugs lobby.
“Pablo Escobar name is given by Rohan Khaunte to Michael Lobo. Whole world knows now. He is the one who supports everyone on drugs,” he said.
Sequeira said that Lobo was selling earthen wares some years back. “We also know what was being sold through these pots,” he added.
Sequeira also alleged involvement of PI Nolasco Raposo in supporting the drugs trade.
