Panaji: Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday held meeting with the senior officials to make department more “people friendly.”
Rane held meeting with Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Santosh Kumar and other officials to review plans for the Forest department and take cognizance of what is happening in the department.
“We shall work in tandem to make the department more people friendly. We spoke on government schemes that will benefit the department, developing wildlife sanctuaries in Goa and focusing on promoting eco tourism in the state,” the minister said.
“Furthermore, we had a detailed discussion on forest management, issues faced by the department and ways to strengthen the Forest Corporation by establishing eco tourism areas for hinterland tourism, among other things,” he added.
