Panaji: A day after Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) protested by stopping an official bus of Indian Super League (ISL) team demanding that Goans be employed in the services which are required by ISL organizers, the party’s leader today held meeting with the ISL management.
“You can organize ISL but don’t snatch away the bread and butter of Goans,” said Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
“We have met the representatives of ISL who have promised us that they will employ Goans in various services, we’re also in talks with Goa Taxi Owners Association who will take the responsibility of providing them taxis,” GPCC vice president Sankalp Amonkar said.
GPCC informed that sound system and generators would also be hired from Goans Goans this will proved them with employment. “Our protest yesterday has become successful as Goans will now be employed in ISL services,” Amarnath Panjikar said. The GPCC also gave an ultimatum that they will interrupt the ISL matches if Goans are not employed in the future.
