Cuncolim: Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias on Saturday said that he wouldn’t mind to quit BJP, if his supporters ask him to do so, over the reservation of Guirdolim constituency for upcoming Zilla panchayat polls.
Dias said that his supporters are upset over the recent reservation of Guirdolim Zilla Panchayat constituency, which has been reserved for women for the third consecutive term.
“In the year 2010 it was reserved for women, in 2015 it was for OBC women and now again it is reserved for women. I see no logic in such a move,” he said.
Dias said that his supporters are upset and would also move to the court seeking to change the reservation.
The Cuncolim MLA said that he has already spoken to Deputy Chief minister Chandrakant Kavlekar urging him to take up the matter with CM.
Dias said that if his supporters insist him to quit the party over this issue, he is ready to do so.
