Panaji : Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Goa has launched Cheer for India drive to motivate the 127 Indian participants for Tokyo Olympics 2020. The press conference for announcing cheer for India drive was addressed today by BJYM President Samir Mandrekar, South Goa President Shubham Narvekar and General Secretary Akhil Parrikar
Speaking about the Olympics Parrikar said Tokyo Olympics 2020 is set to commence on 23 July. There are 127 Participants representing India, Cheer for India is an initiative under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi to motivate the participants as well as achieve fitness goals for individuals across India.
President Samir Mandrekar informed that BJYM has supported this initiative and that they will be giving task to youth and general public from 23 July to 8 August. The participants will have to choose from a number of tasks offered, which include gym, sprinting, badminton etc.
He said since the advent of Covid19 and lock downs people have not been able to meet their fitness goals. “Through Cheer for India drive people have the opportunity to exercise and complete the challenges,” he said.
Mandrekar said that participants who complete daily challenge and upload status will be eligible to bag prizes via virtual mode. “Those who complete the challenge for 16 days will get merchandise” he asserted.
