Panaji: On the day when Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai met TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, the latter has put the ball in the court of former to decide about the alliance.

Banerjee said that TMC believes in distributing seats for the regional parties.

“I want that the regional parties should be strong. We want that the federal structure should be strong. We should make states strong, if states are strong, than the central will be strong. Delhi ka dadagiri amka naka (We don’t want dadagiri of Delhi) enough is enough,” she said.

When asked about her meeting with Goa Forward Party (GFP) Chief Vijai Sardesai, she said that she has discussed the matter that whoever is committed to fight BJP, should “walk together”.

“It is their (GFP) decision, their choice what they will decide, we want to avoid the division of votes. The regional and local parties can work together and give a good fight to BJP ,” she said.

Earlier, speaking to mediapersons, Sardesai had said “If the road to India starts from Goa, there has to be convergence of like-minded entities. It cannot happen with merger, it happens with coming together.”
