Verna: The Taxi operators and drivers affiliated to Goa Miles held a meeting with the management officials on Tuesday to discuss various issues including tauting at the Airport which has been going on unabated.
The meeting was held at Masjid Hall at Verna.
Director of Goa Miles Parashar Pai Khot was amongst those who attended the meeting, which was participated by around 180-200 drivers. The taxi drivers affiliated to Goa Miles urged the Director to sort out issues faced by the operators.
The vehicle owners demanded action to be taken by the goverment and police authorities on the illegal practice known as tauting which is done by taxi driver and other taxi operators at the airport.
The issue of Hijackers who operate around the Airport was also discussed during the meeting.
It was told that the Hijackers were approaching GoaMiles counter by surrounding the customer near counter number 26 at Airport and harassing the customers. Discussions were also held on Fines charged on sancoale to Airport road without any notification being issued by the Transport department or the collector.
