Significant Moment as Goa Government Hands over Plots to Electronic Manufacturing Industrialists

Panjim : In a landmark achievement, the Government of Goa, under the visionary leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism; Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing and Stationary, Govt. of Goa, handed over allotment letters for plots at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) Tuem. The event marks one of the significant activities in the ongoing project that commenced seven years ago with the inauguration of the EMC Park by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modiji, in 2016. The implementing authority of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) Tuem is Infotech Corporation Goa headed by Dr.Chandrakant Shetye MLA- Bicholim.

The EMC Tuem project, spanning an impressive 5,97,125 sq. mts., is a testament to the commitment of the Goan government to fostering growth in the IT and Electronic System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. With an approved project cost of Rs 161,32,35,501/- and a grant-in-aid of Rs 73,77,50,000/- from the Government of India, this initiative is poised to meet the future demands of the rapidly evolving industry.

*The Honorable Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, expressed his enthusiasm about the completion of the EMC Tuem project, saying, “This is a momentous occasion for Goa. The Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Tuem is a significant step towards realizing our vision of a technologically advanced and economically vibrant state. I applaud the concerted efforts of all stakeholders involved in making this dream a reality.”*

*Echoing these sentiments, Hon’ble Minister Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, remarked, “The EMC Tuem project exemplifies the synergy between government and industry. It not only strengthens the foundation of Goa as a hub for electronic manufacturing but also sets a benchmark for other states to emulate.”*

Under the Land Allotment Policy – 2021, the government is set to allocate plots to leading industrialists at competitive rates. Kenkre Generators Sales and Service, Samanvii Digimedia Art and Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mega Electricals, Sol Innocab Pvt. Ltd, Pristine Engineering Services, and Natekar Industries are among the esteemed recipients of these allotments.

The industrial plots, available at Rs. 540.00 per sq. mtr., and Micro Industrial Zone (MIZ) Plots at Rs. 1,200.00 per sq. mtr., will be leased for a term of 30 years with the option of renewal for subsequent terms. The rates are amongst the lowest in the country and are a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for electronic manufacturing in the state.

The EMC Tuem project allows for the establishment of a diverse range of industries, including Telecom Products, Nano Electronics Products, I.T Hardware, Consumer Electronics, Health and Medical Electronics, Strategic Electronics, and many more. The anticipated employment opportunities, ranging from 2,000 to 3,000, underscore the potential for job creation and economic growth in the region.

The EMC Tuem project is poised to be a catalyst for change, transforming Goa into a leading destination for electronic manufacturing and innovation. The success of this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment and fostering growth in key sectors.
