Shramik Express trains to Jharkhand, UP left from Goa on Sunday

Panaji: Two Shramik Express trains from Goa to UP and Jharkhand left on Monday from Margao and Karmali railway stations respectively.

Shramik Express train carrying more than one thousand stranded labourers from Jharkhand left from Goa on Monday, a senior official said.

“Shramik Express special train no. 01686 departed from Karmali Railway Station to Hatia in Jharkhand on Monday carrying 1494 passengers on board who were stranded in Goa due to on going nationwide lockdown,” a senior State government official said.

All the passengers had their temperature tested with thermal gun before they were boarded the train, he said.

Meanwhile, another Shramik Express Special Train number  01684 carrying 1484 passengers left Madgaon Railway Station on Monday for Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, he said.

The official said that a proper medical screening and other formalities of the passengers were carried out before they boarded the train.
