Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today honoured seven teachers, including two headmasters and one Special Educator, with State Award 2018-19, for their dedicated service.
The awardees were Prakash Narayan Gaonkar, Primary Teacher Government Primary School, Bhuipal Sattari. He is been into service for last 27 years. He is the President of Goa Rajya Prathamik Shikshak Sangh.
Surekha Damodar Pagi, Primary Teacher, Government Primary School Katta Amona Quepem, will be awarded for her dedicated service to the education sector for last 29 years. One of her achievement was the effort to literate the girls from the Dhangar Community during the night time for two hours. She was awarded “Shikshan Bhushan Puraskar.
Assistant Teache of government High School, Shirodwadi, Mulgao, Bicholim Shivdas Waman Kauthankar, is been into service for 31 years. He has written two books namely Bal Sanskar Katha, Prayog Karuya Gharacha Ghari and Samaj Hitachya Janivetun. He was nominated as Best Teacher by Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali.
In the special education category, Meena Dias, Special Educator, St. Xavier’s Academy. She has been into service of special children for past 28 years service in cadre.
Vijaykumar Babusso Kopre Dessai, Assistant Teacher, Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem, woking for last 23 years. As a Scout Master he always remains close to students by hosting camps at National and State Level. He used different techniques and remedial practices to reach out to special students.
Sudan Fati Naik Gaonkar, Headmaster, Govt. High School, Agarwada, Pernem. He motivated teachers to register themselves for free online training programme.
Headmaster, of Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar High School, Keri Ponda Nilu Putu Jalmi for his dedicated service last 36 years . He was awarded Best Teacher Award by Avishkar Social and Educational Foundation Kolhapur.
