Ponda: Reacting to the resignation of St Andre Block committee, MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar said that “selfish people have no place in the party.”
St Andre block led by Jagdish Bhobe had resigned on Sunday accusing Dhavalikar brothers of converting the political outfit into their privately owned company.
Minutes after the resignation, Dhavalikar told online portal The Goan Reporter that the committee was already being dissolved and new was being formulated.
“The St Andre Block committee was knowing that it was coming so they preferred to resign in advance. We had idea that they were planning to quit the party,” he said.
Dhavalikar said that those who have resigned had joined the party with selfish motive. “They are unware about history and the constitution of MGP. They had joined the party for ticket, which they were given and after that they have left the party,” he said.
The MGP President said that the party had held meeting in St Andre constituency after 2017 polls and was also working to increase the base.
“Their resignation will not have any impact on the party. MGP will continue working there,” he added.
