Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant congratulated his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath for naming the under-construction Mughal Museum in Agra city after Maratha Icon Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
On Sunday, Sawant tweeted in Hindi congratulating Adityanath following the latter’s announcement that the under-construction Mughal Museum in Uttar Pradesh’s historic Agra city would be named after Maratha icon Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a pride of our country and an icon for the youth. Yogi Adityanath has taken an appreciable step by naming, under construction museum at Agra, after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,” Goa CM tweeted.
Earlier on the same day, Adityanath had declared change in name of the museum commenting “How can our heroes be Mughals.”
“Agra’s under-construction museum will be known by the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In your new Uttar Pradesh, there is no space for the symbols of “the mentality of slavery”. Shivaji Maharaj is our hero. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!” he tweeted in Hindi.
