SARAS festival in Margao from January 23

Panaji: RDA Minister Michael Lobo said that the 12-day-long SARAS trade fair providing opportunity for rural artisans would begin in Margao on January 23.

The South Goa District Rural Development Agency is organizing the festival. Lobo told reporters that State and Central government will contribute Rs 35 lakh each for the festival.

The minister said that the self help groups across the state would be participating in the SARAS which is one of the biggest footfall attracting event in Goa.

Lobo said that 250 artisans would be participating in the event. “Last year, a turnover of Rs 1.3 crore was done during the festival,” he said.
