A delegation of the Ribandar Health Care Committee will on Thursday 15th October meet Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to discuss their demand that a full
fledged Health Centre be set up at the Old Ribandar Hospital.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has stated that the Chief Minister would be urged that in public interest the Ribandar full fledged Health Centre at the Old Ribandar Hospital should come under the supervision and management of the Goa Medical College.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has stated that the Chief Minister’s attention would also be drawn that besides catering to the health needs of the very densely populated Ribandar, the medical centre at the Old Ribandar Hospital would benefit the residents of neighboring Old Goa, Corlim, Divar, Chorao, Merces and Chimbel.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has further stated that the Panaji MLA despite on 9th October having given a solemn promise that full health care facilities would be restored by hook or crook at the Old Ribandar hospital had hours later made a U-turn by stating that Government had no funds for the same.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has pointed out that for setting up health and medical care services no government could ever cite the reason of paucity of funds
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has stated that any move to start a cosmetic day dispensary would be strongly opposed and that medical services at the Old Ribandar Hospital should start with a full-fledged 24×7 Casualty unit as was assured by the Panaji MLA in his May 2019 election manifesto and that other medical facilities could be added in stages to ensure that the old Ribandar hospital becomes a full-fledged hospital.
