The Ribandar Health Care Committee has thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Health Minister

Vishwajit Rane and local MLA Babush Monserrate for being positive and their proactive approach to the demand of the people that full medical and health
care facilities be set up at the old Ribandar hospital.

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has expressed the hope that the authorities would fast track the setting up of the centre as the health and wellbeing of the people has to always be a priority.

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has also stated that medical services at the Old Ribandar Hospital could start with a Community Health centre on the lines of the one at Sanquelim and that other medical facilities could be added in stages to ensure that the old Ribandar hospital becomes a full-fledged hospital.

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has further stated that the Health Centre would come as a big relief to the residents of a very densely populated Ribandar and also benefit the people of neighboring Old Goa, Corlim, Divar, Chorao, Merces and Chimbel.

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has once again requested Union Minister Shripad Naik to please find an alternate location for his proposed Ayush Centre as the history and glory of the heritage Ribandar hospital being Asia’s first medical school established on 13th December 1867 needs to be preserved at all cost by restoring a fully fledged State of the art medical centre at the Hospital with all possible health care facilities.
