Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that he would be the party’s face for 2022 State Legislative Assembly election.
Sawant said that the party’s state executive meeting has decided to project him as the chief ministerial face for 2022 elections.
“During the state executive, party president Sadanand Tanavade has announced that the elections would be fought under my leadership,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the party will win in more than 30 out of 40 assembly constituencies based on the performance of the state government.
He said that the state government has done commendable job during COVID-19 outbreak to provide infrastructure to tackle the virus. He said that the medical facilities offered by the state are the best in the country.
He said that he has been periodically analyzing the performance of his ministers, who have been done good job in their respective portfolios.
Sawant also said that the state government will not allow Mahadayi River to be diverted by Karnataka. “I will put in my more than hundred per cent efforts to ensure that Mahadayi river is not diverted by Karnataka,” he said.
