Panaji: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today informed the State Governor Mridula Sinha that he will retain the portfolios allocated to two minister – Francis D’Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar.
Both the state ministers belonging to BJP are admitted in Mumbai hospital. While Madkaikar has been admitted in Kokilaben Hospital after he suffered brain stroke, D’Souza has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital, the exact cause of his ailment is not revealed by the government.
“Chief minister has communicated that he will retain portfolios of both the ministers till they assume office. The CM will respond to the business related to their portfolios on the floor of the House,” an official from Chief Minister’s office said.
In a notification issued this afternoon, Raj Bhavan has said that “Governor of Goa in consultation with Chief Minister, hereby directs that during the period of absence of the Ministers Francis D’Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar, the business of the Government allocated to the said Ministers shall be looked after by Parrikar.”
Madkaikar is holding Power and Social Welfare departments, D’Souza is Urban Development and Law minister of the State. B
Parrikar on Wednesday had replied to the Questions of Power department, which came up for on the floor of the House during ongoing monsoon session.
