Panaji: As the international publication, The New York Times, has put Goa as the place with highest COVID19 cases and slow vaccination drive, Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has said that the situation can improve if the state deploys its available funds and resources in effective vaccination drive.

Sardesai has referred to the report in The New York Times which has shown Goa as topping the graph in terms of the number of cases. The publication has termed Goa as highest global example of new covid-19 cases amongst 100,000 people and slowest in vaccination.

Sardesai tweeted “@ntimes ranks #Goa as the highest global example of new #COVID19 cases amongst 100,000 people and the slowest #vaccine drive to tame the virus. @DrPramodPSawant mismanagement and ignorance has made #Goa a global embarrassment from a renowned tourist destination to a banana republic.

He said “#Goa can improve this @nytimes mention if the @GovtofGoa deploys the available funds and resources such as the Rs 300 Cr Liberation Day fund to rollout an efficient #vaccine drive. Goa has the capacity and amenities to o so and we still open our doors of #GoemkarGhor as a vaccine center.”
