Congress demands dismissal of Sawant-led govt

Panaji: The Congress party in Goa on Sunday demanded dismissal of Dr Pramod Sawant-led government terming it insensitive and irresponsible alleging its failure on covid management front.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar said that a meeting of senior party leaders including state desk incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao was held to discuss the prevailing situation in the state.

“It was resolved during the meeting that Goa Governor should dismiss the State government which is insensitive, irresponsible and failed,” he said.

The Congress party has also demanded that Centre should post “full time Governor for the state.”

B S Koshyari currently holds additional charge of Goa besides his posting in Maharashtra.

Chodankar said that the party also resolved that it along with all its frontal organizations will continue COVID-19 relief work, more effectively.

The meeting condemned “neglecting attitude of BJP Government resulting in deaths of patients.”

The party also condemned the government for using Ivermectin tablets against experts advised and demanded to immediately stop the same, he said.
