Margao : Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress (GPMC) President Beena S. Naik  said the BJP government in Goa is a “Late Lateef, Government”. “Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress has a reason to call this government a late Lateef because GPMC gave 2 Memorandums to the present government; but this government slept over it.” said Naik
Speaking about the preventive measures which were suggested through GPMC memorandums Naik Said “The first Memorandum was given on 16th April, asking the government to seal the borders & make RTPCR compulsory, as 6 States were in Lockdown, naturally the influx of tourists was towards Goa.
The 2nd Memorandum was emailed on 30 April whereby GPMC had asked the Government to take the possession of Private hospitals & not to overburden the doctors from GOA Medical Hospital with Posts. Government did not pay heed to it.”
GPMC through their press issued on 6th May had suggested the government to take the help of all elected representatives —such as MLAs, Corporators, Councillors, ZP & Panchayat members to Monitor the Covid Vaccination programme. Get each panchayat attached to the rural/Urban Centres & Private hospitals. “Let the elected representatives monitor it ward-wise”.
“All these suggestions made by Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress last month went on deaf ears. Now they’re getting up from their sombre.
If the Goa government was active & would have acted immediately to our suggestions, perhaps we would not have lost nearly 1000 people dying in 19 days.” concluded Naik
