No Question of Scrapping GoaMiles; ready to sign tri-party agreement- CM

Porvorim: Even as the tourist taxi operators have threatened to surrender their permits en mass, the State Government is firm on its decision not to scrap GoaMiles app based taxi service.
Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said as why should government scrap GoaMiles which is getting positive response across.
“Who has asked them to surrender permit. We have asked them to cooperate with the government and we are ready to provide all support,” he said
Sawant said that government has also proposed to is sign tri party agreement involving government representative either from tourism department or GTDC, taxi association and GoaMiles.
“With this, we have requested taxi operators to join the app for three months on trial basis. We have assures them minimum guaranteed  business,” he said.
“Also we have proposed that is taxi operators are not happy with GoaMiles we have promised to support them in developing their own app. What is there to try for three months,” chief minister said.
He said government cannot do anything beyond this and taxi operators should not take us for granted.
