BJP Goa Unit President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Vinay Tendulkar said the Prime Minister has given appointment for the delegation tomorrow (February 6) to discuss the mining issue.

He said that the delegation would comprise of all the three MPs including him (Tendulkar), Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar (Lok Sabha).

Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Pramod Sawant, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar,  MGP MLA Dipak Pawaskar and leaders of Goa Mining People’s Front led by Puti Gaonkar will be part of the delegation.

The mining dependents in the State are pressing for resumption of the industry which has come to a standstill since March last year.

GMPF has demanded that the Union government should amend the existing mining laws.

The meeting with PM attains significance as mining dependents had threatened to work against BJP candidate during upcoming Lok Sabha polls, if the issue is not settled.
