Manohar Parrikar Vigyan Mahotsav in December

Panaji: Goa will host Manohar Parrikar Vigyan Mahotsav on December 13 and 14, this year.

State had hosted the Nobel Price Series 2018 under the leadership of former Chief Minister late Parrikar, who wanted to make the event an annual affair.

In lines with this, Government has now constituted 16-member committee under  the Goa Public Service Commission chairman Jose Manuel Noronha.

The event titled “Manohar Parrikar Vigyan Mahotsav” will have the  theme Science for Vibrant Society.

The order states that the committee will be responsible to oversee and conduct the event, slated to be held on December 13 and 14, while it will also have the powers to take decisions in respect to matters concerning administration besides finalisation of scientist nobel laureates.

The committee also comprises of NIO Director, GTDC MD Nikhil Desai, Education Director Nagaraj Honnekeri, Goa University Professor M K Janarthanam, Goa Vidnyan Parishad President Suhas Ghodse, Director of Art & Culture Gurudas Pilarnkar, Director of Information & Publicity Meghna Shetgaonkar, Additional Secretary Finance Sunil Masurkar, scientist Sujetkumar Dongre, and other officers such as Sanjeev Joglekar, Dipak Gaitonde, Dominic Fernandes and Sangeeta Naik as its members.
