Dr Samuel expressed disappointment over the steps taken by the Central government to disrupt the allopathic modern system of medicine which has which has been successfully functioning since independence. Dr Samuel also said “We (IMA) have high regard for and respect for the alternate system of medicine under the AYUSH and we encourage the promotion of the same in it spure form. It is unfortunate and detrimental to the fragile health system prevalent in our country which requires a robust system to meet the day to day requirements of the citizen, instead the govt has decided to weaken the quality and training of healthcare workers”
The memorandum by IMA appealed to take up this issue and to make sure that such draconian system doesn’t see the light of the day.
