Panaji: Goa’s coronavirus caseload went up by 159 and reached 48,935 on Tuesday, a health department official said.

The death toll remained at 701 as none patients succumbed to the infection during the day, he said.

The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 46,924 with 146 of them getting discharge on Tuesday. The number of active cases is now 1,310, the official said.

“A total of 2,142 samples were tested during the day,” he added.
