Goa notifies extension of state level curfew till June 21

Panaji: With COVID-19 positivity rate touching 14 per cent, Goa government on Sunday notified extension of its state wide curfew till June 21.

State Administration has exempted essential services from the purview of the curfew, which initially began on May 09 and was subsequently extended by the State government. The State which had witnessed as high as 51 per cent positivity has recorded it 14 per cent on Sunday.

The notification on the curfew reads that it will be in force till 7 am on June 21.

The activities like Casinos, Bars, Restaurants, shops, river cruises, schools, colleges, educational institutions and others have to remain closed during the state level curfew.

During the curfew period, social, sports, cultural and academic functions have been barred while marriages are allowed with 50 guests after taking permission from respective District Magistrates or Sub Divisional Magistrates.

The inter-state movement of persons is allowed for “those carrying Covid negative test report for a test done a maximum of 72 hours prior to entering in Goa.”

The persons entering Goa for medical emergencies are allowed after producing the proof of the same.

The buses are allowed to carry passengers with 50 percent of its capacity but the occupants should be those going for duty purpose or medical emergencies.
