Panjim, 3rd November 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa today strongly condemned the collapse of law and order across Goa, stating that the state has turned into a Gundaraj under the BJP government.

AAP National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said the BJP has destroyed Goa’s safety and reputation. “Every taluka across Goa has seen rising crime. There is no longer fear of the police — all this is due to political interference. The BJP is running a gunda government and has turned the police into goons. Be it the Pernem firing or the brutal assault on Edberg Pereira, police officials are involved.”

Naik added that the BJP has not only failed Goans but has also harmed the state’s global image. “BJP has tarnished Goa’s image in the whole country and internationally. Bouncers are attacking tourists in Anjuna. Videos are going viral across India and abroad. Who will feel safe visiting Goa now?”

He demanded the Chief Minister’s resignation. “The CM has failed in every aspect. He has lost control over law and order. The government is supposed to control the police, but today police answer only to political masters. The CM should resign immediately.”

AAP Leader Sandesh Teleikar Dessai said the situation is out of control. “The protectors have turned into attackers. The CM is sleeping while Goa is burning. He is busy with events when people are living in fear. The BJP government has turned the Goa police into political instruments instead of protectors.”

Dessai added that Goans today no longer trust the police. “People don’t feel safe approaching the police. Instead of protecting citizens, they threaten them. This is not policing — this is dictatorship through uniform.”

AAP highlighted a list of recent crimes showing Goa’s law & order collapse:
Margao – Chain snatching near Rosary College, Navelim
Pirna – Murder case
Anjuna – Bouncers beat tourists in club
Dona Paula – Dacoity
Pernem – Gun firing over mining dispute
Navelim – Edberg Pereira custodial assault
Porvorim – House theft
Chinchinim – House theft
Mungul – Gang war
Panjim – Gang fight outside the police station

Naik concluded, “Goa is not safe anymore — not for locals, not for tourists. BJP’s double-engine has failed to protect Goa.”
