Goa government to get revenue from Manohar International Airport from December, 2024: CM

Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant told the House on Monday that the state government has extended the date of payment of revenue share from the Concessnaire of the Manohar International Airport at Mopa to December 7, 2024.

In a written reply tabled on the floor of the House, Sawant said that the council of minister in its cabinet meeting approved the extension of time to the Concessionaire for payment of Premium to the Government of Goa, from the earlier extended date May 31, 2024 to December 7, 2024.

The chief minister said as per the agreement, the scheduled completion date of the Phase I of the Airport shall occur on 1095th day ie. from the Appointed Date, that is September 2017.

“Thus as per the Concession Agreement the schedule completion date of the Phase I of the Airport was September 03, 2020 and revenue to the government should have commenced from September 04, 2020,” he said.

The chief minister told the House that on account of stay orders from the courts and the COVID-19 pandemic impact, there was a delay of 851 days for the completion of Phase I of the airport.

“The payment of revenue share to the Government shall commence after the period of two years from the date of achievement of the completion of the Phase I of the project,” he said.

Sawant said that since as per the provisions of Concession Agreement, the Government has accorded extension of the Project Milestones and the scheduled completion date, the date of payment of concession fee/revenue share to the Government has accordingly been extended by the Government with the approval of the cabinet on December 07, 2024.
