Porvorim: Unknown assailants on Friday evening fired at a Director of a renowned casino group near here, police said.
Superintendent of Police (North) Harish Madkaikar told GNH that unknown assailants fired bullets at Srinivas Nayak, Director of Majestic Pride Hotels and Resorts Private limited, outside his resort at Porvorim, near here.
Nayak had a narrow escape as the attackers managed to flee from the scene after unsuccessful attempt, Madkaikar said.
Majestic Pride owns an off shore casino besides running a five-star property at Porvorim, where the incident happened.
The incident happened at 8.45 pm on Friday.
When contacted, Nayak confirmed that he was attacked. “I am fine. I was not hurt,” he told GNH.
A senior police officer stated that the manhunt has been launched in the coastal state to nab the assailants. More details of the incident were not available.
