Satyawan Talwadkar today joined Congress in the presence of AICC Goa In-charge Manikrao Thakare, AICC Goa Co-Incharge Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, GPCC Working President M. K. Shaikh, General Secretary Pradip Naik, Media and Communication Chairman Amarnath Panjikar, District President Rajesh Verekar, Sanguem Block President Diago Fernandes, senior Congress leader Rajanikant Naik, Chanda Velip, and Satyawan Gaonkar.
Welcoming Talwadkar into the party, GPCC President Girish Chodankar said his decision reflected his resolve to raise issues relating to justice, equal opportunity, and the rights of the Scheduled Tribe community.
Chodankar raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding Talwadkar’s promotion in the Directorate of Accounts and alleged that caste considerations may have influenced the manner in which the matter was dealt with. He said Talwadkar had approached the court to seek relief regarding his promotion.
“Satyawan Talwadkar had to approach the court to seek what he believed was his rightful due. His case raises questions about fairness and equal treatment in government service, and these concerns deserve to be examined objectively and transparently,” Chodankar said.
Chodankar also questioned the utilisation and accounting of funds intended for the ST community. Referring to the figure of ₹3,200 crore, he said the Government should provide clarity on the allocation and utilisation of these funds. He also pointed to the continuing uncertainty surrounding ST reservation, saying that the issue remains a matter of concern, particularly among young people.
“ST youth are seeking clear answers on reservation, opportunities, and their future. They have every right to seek accountability and transparency from the Government,” Chodankar said.
Referring to former minister Govind Gaude, Chodankar said questions had also been raised regarding the circumstances surrounding his removal and the issue of ST reservation.
“Today, Satyawan Talwadkar has joined Congress in the belief that concerns relating to justice, equality, and constitutional rights must be heard. Congress will stand with him and with every citizen seeking fair treatment,” Chodankar said.
THAKARE: EQUALITY AND JUSTICE MUST BE PROTECTED
AICC Goa In-charge Manikrao Thakare welcomed Talwadkar to Congress and said the party remained committed to equality, dignity, and social justice.
“Every citizen is entitled to equal treatment and a fair opportunity. When concerns are raised about the denial of such rights, they must be heard and addressed through appropriate constitutional and legal mechanisms. Congress will continue to stand with those seeking justice,” Thakare said.
He said Talwadkar’s joining would further strengthen the party’s efforts to raise issues affecting people across Goa.
DR. ANJALI NIMBALKAR: PEOPLE DESERVE TRANSPARENCY AND FAIR OPPORTUNITY
AICC Goa Co-Incharge Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar said that questions concerning employment, reservation, and welfare must be addressed with transparency and sensitivity.
“People expect fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity from the Government. When genuine concerns are raised, the answer should be dialogue, accountability, and appropriate action. Congress will continue to provide a democratic platform for such concerns,” Dr. Nimbalkar said.
Welcoming Talwadkar, she said his decision would add strength to the Congress organisation and its efforts to raise issues of social justice.
Talwadkar thanked the Congress leadership for welcoming him into the party and expressed his commitment to work for the people.
