Panaji: AICC Goa desk in-charge Manikrao Thakrey on Tuesday appealed to Congress workers and people to ignore a purported fake survey on the performance of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar, alleging that it was being carried out by political opponents.
Thakrey clarified that the Congress party was not conducting any such survey either in Goa or at the central level.
“The party has already alerted its workers about the fake survey,” Thakrey said.
Party sources stated that some workers have allegedly been receiving telephone calls asking whether they were satisfied with Chodankar’s performance as GPCC president and suggesting that former state party chief Amit Patkar could be reinstated in the post.
Thakrey urged party workers and the public to remain vigilant and not share information with persons conducting such calls. The party maintained that no survey regarding the GPCC president was being conducted by the Congress at either the state or central level.
