Panaji: Goa Forward Party on Thursday said that they remain to be with BJP-led Goa government and their support remain steadfast in good and bad times.

Goa Forward Party Chief and Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai told reporters that he has not spoken to anyone about the recent development. “Goa Forward remains steadfast with this government in good and bad times,” he said.

Sardesai said that the Congress party has been trying to hook him to have alliance with him to form the government by giving several offers, but he has refused them time and again.

“After trying to convince me several times, even till recently, finally Congress has given up. I believe in standing by word,” he said.

Sardesai said that his party had drawn maximum flak for having alliance with BJP and form the government.  “Everyone knows who has faced the maximum flak and who has been the most dependable ally. When he was suffering from terminal disease but despite that we did not move an inch,” he said.

On asked whether he would be dropped from cabinet after BJP gained comfortable majority with the induction of ten Congress MLAs, Sardesai said that he would not comment on it till something like that happens.

“Let them take the decision then we will analyse the decision and pros and cons of it. I don’t find much of the need for this.  I don’t see any political significance in it,” he added.

“But there must be special sitution (to take such number of MLAs in party) and what is the special sitution, we need to find out,” Sardesai said.
