Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant will lay foundation stone for restoration of Portuguese-era Sanquelim fort on Saturday.
Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar, who is also the minister for Archeology and Archives will be also present.
The fort, which dates back to the pre-Portuguese era, is in a dilapidated condition and is crumbling with each passing day. There was a long pending demand from various Heritage activist groups for its restoration which has been heard and the work will be taken up.
