Panaji: Goa Forward Party Chief and Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai on Friday welcomed the decision of union government to extend the PM-KISAN scheme which benefits 14.5 crore farmers in the country.
“As Minister of Agriculture, it’s with great joy that I welcome the Union Cabinet’s decision to extend the PM-KISAN scheme of Rs 6000 per year to all farmers,” Sardesai tweeted.
“This will boost our own ongoing efforts in Goa to deliver farmers from the economic hardships they face,” his tweet adds.
In the first Cabinet meeting, the government Friday decided to extend PM-KISAN scheme to all 14.5 crore farmers in the country costing Rs 87,000 crore a year and also announced over Rs 10,000 crore pension scheme for 5 crore farmers, thereby fulfilling the BJP’s poll promise.
