Margao – The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must explain to the people how many promises made by the BJP Government in the Budget of 2020– 2021 are fulfilled till now before presenting the new Budget of 2021-2022 demanded Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.

Last year, the adamant BJP Government passed the Budget in few minutes without considering the constructive suggestions from the Opposition. People of Goa want to know how many Schemes, Promises and Announcements have actually seen the light of the day from the Super-Fast Budget of 2020-2021 stated Digambar Kamat.

It is the duty of the Government to inform the Citizens about the financial condition of the State. The Chief Minister needs to explain to the people why he is afraid of realising White Paper on the financial status of the State said Digambar Kamat.

It is in the rule book of procedure and conduct of business that the replies to the Starred LAQ’s are to be provided two days before the date of the answer. Unfortunately the Government has failed to provide me with a proper answer within the stipulated time to my LAQ which was postponed in the last session and which is listed on the first day of this session. It is the responsibility of the Government to provide factual replies to the questions in time bound manner claimed Digambar Kamat.

The BJP Government is now trying to bring restrictions on the questions tabled for the question hour. If Government wants to put these limitations it is better to call off the question hour. On one hand the Government is not giving proper and time bound replies to the RTI applications. Now by putting restrictions on framing of questions the Government is trying to hide something charged Digambar Kamat.

I had submitted some constructive recommendations before the Business Advisory Committee. I demand that Government must implement the same immediately.

I along with other Opposition MLA’s will take up the issues like Mhadei, Coal Transportation, GCZMP, Three Linear Projects, Marina at Nauxi, Land Acquisition of road to Mopa Airport, Lokayukta Act, Unemployment, Corruption and will hold the Government to task Digambar Kamat Said.

The Congress Legislature Party had also resolved to raise issues concerning the people of Goa and take assurance on firm action plan from the Government he said.

I have already submitted my private member “Goa Lokayukta Bill 2021” and I hope that the Government will pass the same to strengthen the Lokayukta and make Goa corruption free. I will also raise the issue of attempt to kidnap rape and murder a young girl in Canacona by son of BJP office bearer a few days back. I will also raise the issues pertaining to the house of Padmashri Mohan Ranade at Chimbel which needs to be declared as heritage monument. I will also draw the attention of the Government in providing jobs to Persons with Disabilities and also building a Hostel for them said Digambar Kamat.
