Valpoi: Several people from Karonzol village marched to the Forest Department’s office near Velus Forest Nursery after official confiscated the stock of cashew nuts plucked by them.
The villagers claimed that the Forest Department officials were acting in a very high-handed behaviour.
They claimed that the Forest Guards had illegally and forcibly confiscated four bags, full of Cashew Nuts.
According to villagers they are having cashew plantations in their Karonzol village near forest boundary. But the forest officials claimed that its belongs to them.
The round forest officer, Pradeep Fatarpekar told villagers that they will return villagers the bags.
