The need of the hour is for Madganvkars to rise, not just against one man, but against the entire culture of dishonesty he represents, along with his proxy operators, crony capitalists, and the corrupt systems they thrive in. Let this be a message to all – Madganvkars will not be fooled again, stated Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
In 2020, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat had publicly praised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s decisions, calling them action taken in the nation’s interest. Fast forward to 2025, and the same man now questions that very era. “This blatant double-speak is nothing new to the people of Margao, it’s just the same actor reciting a new script,” said Prabhav Naik.
Kamat’s political journey is a masterclass in opportunism. Having jumped parties not once, not twice, but thrice, he now holds the title of the undisputed grandfather of defections. “His legacy isn’t one of leadership or public service – it’s a trail of betrayal and backroom deals,” Naik charged.
“I have posted videos dated 19th November 2020 and 4th February 2022 on my social media, showing Digambar Kamat pledging loyalty to the very party and leaders he later deserted. Notably, he pledged loyalty before the same grandson whom he invoked yesterday and that moment now stands as a damning mirror to his hypocrisy,” said Naik. “Back then, he called himself a political ‘grandfather’ to the younger generation and pledged to uphold the Constitution. Today, he invokes that same generation while shamelessly siding with the very party he once vehemently opposed.”
“This constant flip-flopping not only insults the intelligence of voters, it undermines the very sanctity of our Constitution. Kamat’s betrayal is not just personal; it’s institutional. He has betrayed every voter who trusted him, every worker who backed him, and every citizen who believes in democratic values,” said Prabhav Naik.
Madganvcho Awaaz strongly condemns this continued pattern of deceit. “Digambar Kamat’s political credibility has long expired. The only solution now is for the people of Margao to retire this seasoned defector and ever-changing chameleon once and for all,” Prabhav Naik asserted.
