Panaji: Against the wrong notion about poor and mismanagement of   Covid patients during their treatment at several government hospitals, here is a first hand experience of Sachin Sukhathankar and his family. Sachin has been coming out with all praises of the treatment provided at SDH Ponda and thanked Dr Vikas Kuwelkar and his team for their support.

Sharing his experience on how he and his family dealt with the stigma of Covid when one of them was tested positive, Sachin stated, “My wife Sukanya complained fever and sour throat and was tested positive on November 24, while my son and I tested negative. We decided to admit my wife in SDH Ponda for Covid treatment.”

“When contacted Dr Vikas, he denied her to admit in SDH Ponda stating that discharge is not given with two or three days and patients are complaining about lack of facilities,” Sachin said. However, he still insisted on admitting her there.

Surprisingly, Sachin’s wife, who was discharged after a week and was home quarantined was pleased with the treatment provided to her. Talking on her behalf Sachin said, “As per my wife’s experience the best of facilities are provided by the government.”

Lauding the government’s management with respect to Covid Sachin stated, “Our government has tie yup with SODEXO one of the best hospital catering to provide pantry facilities to patients that to free of cost. it is really unfortunate that people are expecting something else.”
