COVID-19 spike in Sankhalim, cases touch 21 mark, people demand lockdown

Sankhalim: The number of COVID-19 patients in Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s constituency of Sankhalim touched 21 on Monday, creating panic amongst the locals.

The spike was witnessed on Monday as the number of positive people rose from 8 to 21. The people have demanded lockdown of the town to control further spread of the virus.

Sources stated that one of the person who was positive had travelled around the city before testing.

Coincidently, former Health Minister Dr Suresh Amonkar who is currently admitted in ESI hospital Margao after being detected with COVID-19 infection also resides at Sankhalim.
