Panaji: Congress party has demanded sacking of minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues and scrapping of the recruitment process to fill the posts for Inspector of Legal metrology alleging it as a scam.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar told a press conference that recruitment for the post of Inspector of Legal metrology was a major scam.
Presenting the results of the written examination for the post held on September 26, the results of which were announced on November 19, the Congress leader pointed out that two Personal Assistants of minister Rodrigues had secured 100 out of 100 marks in them. The third candidate to secure cent per cent marks was a man from chief minister Pramod Sawant’s Sankhalim Assembly constituency.
Chodankar said that the entire examination was fixed and process was done to help out certain candidates.
He said that the examination for the post is “mere eyewash”and several hundred youth are made to appear these examinations with the hope that they would get into the service on their merit.
Chodankar demanded that Minister Rodrigues should be suspended from the ministry and entire process should be scrapped, failing which Congress will take on the streets over the issue.
He said that while the youth are frustrated due to unemployment, on the other hand, government is taking them for granted.
